Detergent Production Formation in Velingara, 17–18 February 2026
17 and 18 February were devoted to a formation session on detergent production (saponification and bleach-making), bringing together community relays and beneficiary women as part of efforts to strengthen the activities of the Kepparù Jigeen space.
Participants learned the basics of local manufacturing, safety and hygiene principles, as well as the economic opportunities linked to producing and selling these products.
Through demonstrations and group exercises, they learned to produce various detergents, including organic and non-organic bleach, ordinary soap and toilet soap, using readily available raw materials.
This formation helped strengthen their technical skills and confidence, while opening up prospects for income-generating activities around the Kepparù Jigeen kiosk.
