Women's Conversations, 26–28 February
First of all, I'd like to say a word to you, Zoubida, to your team in Réunion, and to the whole dukokalam community.
What you have created with dukokalam: the feminine conversations of the mind transcend a mere event.
It is a place of transmission.
A rare space where speech circulates between generations, where experiences are shared and transformed.
You're talking about 'Tower' and I understand why.
Because it resembles a crossing: lived experiences, silences, inheritances. A crossing that allows each and every one to situate themselves within a history greater than oneself.
In a world where exchanges are often rapid and superficial, Dukokalam creates something precious:
👉in the long run
👉genuine listening
👉the link between generations
And above all, the possibility for young people, girls and boys, to meet inspiring figures whom they might never have encountered, either in person or online.
Encounters that plant seeds, expand possibilities and give permission to dare.
3 days. 1 space. Voices that matter.
Over these three days, you have brought together committed actors around female leadership, health, entrepreneurship and social dynamics.
But above all, genuine exchanges that open up new perspectives.
Kitambaa actively contributed to this dynamic.
On the 27th, we co-facilitated a Neggu Jiggen session with Mrs Ngayta Diop to address, amongst other topics, menstrual health and hygiene with young people.
A powerful moment, when speech was liberated and taboos retreated.
Because menstrual dignity begins with that: understanding, speaking, normalising.
Thank you to the entire team, partners and participants.
Let us continue creating these transformative spaces.
