Kitambaa, which symbolises and evokes the dignity in Swahili, aims to provide young girls and women of reproductive age in Africa with a washable sanitary pad that meets their protection needs, enabling them to participate equally in national and continental development by alleviating the disruption caused by their periods, the lack of access to disposable sanitary products and the lack of adequate infrastructure.
