Ndeye Maguette Niane

Volunteer deployed by CECI to support project management in Kitambaa

Ndeye Maguette Niane is a community development and project management professional with over 15 years’ experience gained in Canada and Senegal. Trilingual (French, English, Wolof), she combines administrative rigour, organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills in her work with a diverse range of people. As a volunteer deployed by CECI, she is currently supporting the Kitambaa team with project management, drawing on her extensive experience gained notably as Director of the Transition Centre for Francophone Refugees at L’Agapanthe, where she oversaw day-to-day operations, managed a multidisciplinary team and developed community partnerships and funding strategies.

Her career has seen her hold several roles in project management and community programming: Project Manager – Housing at La Passerelle-I.D.É. (Toronto), working in partnership with the City of Toronto on preventing the eviction of French-speaking immigrants; Programme Support Adviser at Carrefour International (Toronto, Montreal, Senegal), where she contributed to strategic planning and grant management; and several years as a project manager and project coordinator at La Passerelle-I.D.É. (2011–2020). She holds a College Diploma in Business Administration and Management from Collège Boréal (Toronto) and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and Humanities from Collège John F. Kennedy (Dakar), and has supplemented her training with several recent certifications, notably in first aid, infection prevention and food safety.
