Tostan Formation
9-12 June 2026 Kitambaa, AMFE and Tostan exchanged their community approaches during an intensive seminar focused on well-being, social norm change and human rights. This collective learning framework, punctuated by an introduction to Tostan's Community Empowerment Program (CEP), helped strengthen cohesion and collaborative dynamics among the participating organizations, in order to build inclusive and sustainable local solutions.
At the heart of this training was a two-part field immersion, taking the teams to meet the communities of Same Ndiaye and Keur Simbara. Following these visits, rich in shared experiences, the women and girls of Same Ndiaye strongly expressed their wish to see Kitambaa and Tostan form a lasting partnership to advance three local priorities: strengthening their capacities in menstrual health and hygiene (MHH), setting up a sanitary pad production unit, and establishing a Kepparu Jigeen community kiosk.
This synergy of expertise lays the solid foundations for a profoundly innovative intervention model with strong social impact.
